Testosterone has an important function in literally every part of the human
body. It is vitally involved in the making of protein, which is required
to make and maintain muscle. Testosterone is required to build and maintain
bone. It helps oxygen uptake all throughout the body, helping to revitalize
all tissues. It helps control blood sugar, regulate cholesterol, and helps
to maintain a powerful immune system. Testosterone also appears to help
in mental concentration and mood, as well as improving balance and coordination.
Testosterone is likely to be important in preventing Alzheimer's disease.
The body also uses testosterone to manufacture several other hormones and
essential substances.
In short, much of our life function is tied to the presence of either testosterone
and or estrogen. Without these substances, our quality of life will deteriorate.
